In a Challenger, the controls will allow you to switch off the traction control, but not the ESP (Electronic Skid Protection? Extra Sensory Perception? ) So basically, you can burn out all you want, but cannot do donuts. However there is a hack for this, apparently carefully placed there by Chrysler engineers that enjoy drifting.

First, if you have a push button start you must pop it out. A thumbnail should do it. Behind the button is a regular ignition that you put your FOBIK key in, and start the car by turning it.

Second, while the car is moving forward, turn the key forward again as if you're trying to start the car again. Hold it for a couple seconds until the electronics in the dash go out. When they come back on, both the ESP and traction control lights will remain illuminated on the dash.

Third, get completely sideways like a jackass while pulling out of Sams Club like I did.

I've always found funny how performance cars like the Challenger won't allow you to turn all electronic aids off, but my mom's Vue will.

When I had my Chevy Cruze, first thing I'd do after turning the car on would be to turn T/C off, just one little button hit. Now I don't have to worry about it, because the bass model 350Z lacks both traction control and VSC, so it works out perfect for me, less thing's to deal with before I can set off on my drive :)

Is this permanent or do you have to do this everytime you turn on the car?

Does it have to be either push button or fobkey thing?

I have an 05 magnum, with a real key. I'll have to try it out as soon as winter decides to stop fucking us over.

And you can deactivate it on the SRT challenger, you just have to hold the button for 5-8 secs.
